"I felt that I met with a person rather than someone wearing a professional mask"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

I felt that I met with a person rather than someone wearing a professional mask and making judgements.

This human quality of the patient/therapist relationship is incredibly rare and very important to me.

At every stage of this I was asked whether or not I felt this was relevant and what I thought the core of my concerns were.

This contributed to the efficiency of the service and my personal improvement.

Having completed counselling training myself, I struggled with the fact I could not help myself, but at the same time felt that I had to divorce from my own judgement in order to try something new.

I was relieved that the service was supportive and complementary.

Thankyou for your feedback about your experience with Inclusion Matters. I am pleased you were able to have a very helpful, therapeutic relationship with your therapist, which as you highlight is extremely important.

It can be difficult as someone working within a "caring" profession to seek help for yourself, but I am pleased that you have been able to do this and that you found the input supportive and that things have improved for you.

Best wishes

Tracey
