"Haldane Ward, Nurses great, doctors not so great"

I was admitted to Haldane Ward for the first time in Feb 2014 after numerous visits to my GP and A&E, On the first occasion I stayed for 3 nights and had my appendix removed through key hole surgery, I was pleased with the care from both doctors and nurses and hoped my problem was resolved however this was not the case and I was readmitted 2 weeks later with the same agonising pain in my right pelvic area, on this occasion I was admitted again to Haldane ward and saw the same lovely hard working, caring nurses but a different consultant who despite me saying I was in agony all the time didn't really seem interested as my U/S scan came back clear. I saw many different doctors on this 5 day stay some of which gave me false hope that I was to have a CT scan and see a gynaecologist etc and further tests to get to the bottom of the problem none of this happened and I was told I was being discharged with medication as I was constipated after surgery and this was causing the pain. At this point I asked to see a doctor as I knew the pain wasn't from constipation as I'd been suffering with the same pain since January and only been constipated since my appendix removal. I didn't get to see a doctor and was discharged. I visited my own GP who started some investigations of his own but these were painstakingly slow and I was in agony so I visited A & E again and was given a scan to find my ovaries were doubled in size and full of cysts (Diagnosed as possibly having PCOS), I was again sent home saying I would receive a letter to visit outpatients within 2 weeks, I never received any appointment so off back to A & E I went still in agony on March 27th, I saw a gynaecologist this time who decided to admit me for further tests, the only test I received was another scan which showed my ovaries were just the same. I saw another gynaecologist on Haldane ward whom was awful, when she spoke to me she was about 10 inches from my face and I felt like she was talking to me like I was stupid, she said you can go home and just keep taking pain killers and wait for your outpatients appointment at this point I became very distressed as I was in absolute agony and the Dr just walked off, one of the nurses on Haldane immediately came to see to me and said they would keep me there for an extra night and get the Dr to write me up some stronger pain relief which I didn't receive, I was up almost all night in tears in pain and although the nurses tried to help me they couldn't do much. The same rude Dr came into the ward the next morning and saw me there and said "What on earth are you still doing here? I told you yesterday to go home there is nothing we can do for you" I was appalled by her attitude, the nurse who came and handled my discharge who had cared for me on previous stays on Haldane and seen me in agony on numerous occasions advised me to go to Hull Royal which I did and didn't get much help there either. Finally now by changing GPs I have organised an O/P appt.
