I arrived at the ADCU at 10am and was greeted by the friendly receptionist who treated me with respect and reassured me as apparently I was looking really nervous! I knew I was in for a long wait but every staff member that walked through was friendly and polite which made me feel at ease. Soon I spoke to one of the surgeon's team members who admitted me and went through any concerns that I had, they put my mind at ease about the anestecic as I had a bad reaction with my previous operation so they were super supportive about that! Soon it was time for my operation and I was greeted by the surgeon and his friendly team who made me laugh before I was put to sleep. The operation was successful and I woke up in recovery with friendly nurses who took care of my needs until I was ready to be admitted to Ward 12. The staff were extremely friendly and were supportive as the anestecic and all of the painkillers had made me quite weepy. I was only supposed to stay in for one night but ended up staying for 5 days as I had an accident which gave the nurses and myself, quite a scare! But they helped me back to my bed and continuously checked on me throughout the week until I was discharged. The care was fantastic and everybody was friendly which made the atmosphere positive and very warming! The surgeon was fantastic and I can't thank him enough for what he did, I was in a lot of pain before this operation and it restricted my sporting activities. But after the recovery period I will be able to play sports and run again! So again, thank you to the surgeon and his fantastic team!
