I started my treatment after referal from stepping hill hospital. In short I have had 5 cancellations of appointment, 3 cancellations of operation days.On my operation day I was admitted at 9.30 am was told my operation would be at about 1pm this did not materialise again at 2.15pm and then finallyat 3.30pm. When I came round from the operation bear in mind I had nothing to eat from 7.30 am I was told there was no meal for me , and just an egg sandwich. After discharge I came back 14 days later to be seen by the doctor [this was at the begining of september], who then told me everything ok the procedure would be completed in 6 to 8 weeks. When I arrived at the appointment clerk she told me no appointment until 13 Jan 2009 now I have received another letter stating my appointment has been cancelled again. So you can see why I have no faith in the Manchester Eye Hospital

What could be improved

Appointment system and several cancellations of operations could be vastly improved
