"Stuck in no man's land ans still in pain with my knee"

About: Alexandra Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I have had knee problems since being a teenager and had physio and various other treatments before finally having surgery on them 5 years ago, this happened through Bupa thanks to my parents insurance cover.

Recently my knees have been becoming problems again, so I went to my GP. He was brilliant: he listened to me, acknowledged my history and referred me to the Orthopaedic team. This is when the problems started.

To see a Orthopedic doctor you have to be put through a load of tests just to see if your worthy of their time. I am currently still stuck in this cycle despite my long history with my knees.

I have gone to a rude and dismissive senior nurse who passed me on to physio and to have scans. The ultrasound I had was shocking, calling me by the wrong name, having no idea what they were scanning, and coming to the conclusion that I could bend my knee so there is no problem. Whilst maintaining the attitude of 'get lost'. I found these two medical professionals truly uncaring, rude and dismissive towards me.

The physio I have been given has asked what they are meant to do with me as I have had most treatments before, and asking what is going to happen next, like I know? !

So now I'm stuck in no man's land, unsure of where to go to, feeling like my problems have been dismissed and still in pain with my knees, but hey who cares about quality of life! As long as I don't annoy anyone by expecting them to help me. Truly disgusting!
