About: South Tyneside District Hospital

My husband was admitted as an emergency last week. His care started in A&E, then was transferred to HDU within 2 hours where he stayed for nearly 5 days before being transferred to ward 10 via EAU, This has been my first experience in many years of this hospital and I was really impressed. The staff were excellent in each department he had contact with, caring and compassionate and nothing was too much trouble particularly in HDU which was his longest stay. The student nurse in A&E on the night he was admitted was a lovely caring nurse and will make a wonderful trained nurse, she was calm and caring and very professional in her attitude. Thank you to all of you for taking such good care of him, you were all brilliant.
