Needing a shoulder replacement I did some research and decided that on an appropriate consultant. I do not live in the East Herts area but was able to be referred to him. The date of my operation was the 26th March and I was down for the afternoon list. The entire admittance process went smoothly at the Treatment Centre. I was the only person on the list that afternoon. The consultant explained he was going to carry out a reverse shoulder replacement. The entire team were very professional pleasant and cheerful putting me at my ease. At 2 pm when the admissions clerk had gone a very nice young man came to sit with me until the theatre was ready for me. Being able to walk into the operating theatre and get onto the operating trolley was fine. My next recollection was in the recovery room. The consultant came to see me the following morning and the next day prior to my discharge. I cannot fault the process at all. He is going to explain exactly what he has done at my follow up. Any operation is not pleasant but the entire team made it more bearable. Vivien
