Having had surgery on the 28/04/14 at St Richards I felt I must write my first ever review about the efficient, friendly, professional care received during my short stay. All the staff were wonderful from staff in the booking office, who called me back within 20mins of Worthing Hospitals referral, to the lovely night shift on Chilgrove ward. The whole process which includes the pre assessment, admissions, and post op recovery teams were all very efficient, friendly and extremely caring, nothing was too much trouble, and everything was explained to me as we went along. The post op recovery team ensured I was completely pain free, as I was last to go for surgery and due to unforeseen personal circumstances, they offered an overnight stay, which was arranged swiftly, I was transferred to Chilgrove ward within 30mins. The procedure was explained to me clearly prior to going to theatre with kindness as I was quite nervous. I am not in any pain but am slightly sore around the incisions required to perform the laparoscopy. I have had operations within the private sector and now the NHS and I must say St Richards staff were outstanding. I would also like to mention that the staff at Worthing hospital during my emergency admission in Jan 14 were also very kind and considerate. With all the bad press we hear about the NHS I feel extremely lucky to live in an area with two such well run caring hospitals with impressive staff.
