"Ward 17"

I had a very mixed stay. The clinical side was excellent in nature but nothing was explained well and sadly the midwives were too busy to provide any emotional support leaving me feeling vulnerable and confused. I saw 6 different midwives in 24 hrs and there wasn't much communication between them so I ended up having to explain difficult details again and again as they had no idea. Almost discharged myself at midnight as one member of staff was particularly abrupt, unsupportive and dismissive. This has left me dreading the prospect of giving birth at Lancaster to the point that I am trying to move to another unit.
