I gave birth to my gorgeous baby boy in February 2014 at this hospital. Although I lived half an hour drive away, after visiting other hospitals nothing quite compared to Chelsea and Westminster. All the staff were amazingly attentive right from the beginning. My contractions started really early in the morning and when they finally got too much to bare, myself and my husband traveled to the hospital. I was only 3cm dilated but instead of sending me home the midwives gave me a bed and pain relief because of the distance we had traveled. When the time came I was taken into a very comfortable delivery room with superb midwives. Despite all my screaming and swearing they carried on giving me the best care. A trainee doctor sat and spoke to me about all sorts of things to keep my mind off of the contractions. I was given an epidural and everything was explained clearly to both me and my husband. There was a change over of midwives half way through but they were introduced to me and the level of care didn't change. The midwife who helped deliver my son was amazing and really encouraging. My son was delivered safely with no complications and she put him straight in my arms. The aftercare was fantastic...I had help with breastfeeding, clean area to recover with a comfortable bed, regular checks on me and baby, clean showers and toilets, lovely meals 3 times a day and even room for my husband to sleep there too. I spent 3 nights in the hospital due to blood loss and I haven't got a single complaint. All the midwives were fantastic. The whole experience was just as I hoped and when the time comes I will definitely be coming back to have my second! Thank you for everything!!
"Couldn't have had a better experience!!"
