"Some wonderful caring staff but TV noise a problem"

About: Lister Hospital

The majority of staff were exceptionally caring and patient despite having,on some occasions, staff shortages. I was concerned about the cleaning as the first room my mother used was rather dirty with various items such as pills and sweet wrappers under the bed which were not hers although she had been in the room for 3 days !The Sister was also surprised and sorted it out. However, surely something should be done about allowing patients to rent a tv when in a shared room. My mother shared with 4 ladies one of whom played her tv all day whether she was asleep or not. It was quite loud and the 3 other patients were constantly disturbed by it.

Thanks for your feedback - we were pleased to see that the ward sister sorted out the cleanliness issues, although they shouldn't have needed to been pointed out in the first place. Whilst it was good to hear that the care your mother received was of a high quality, the point made about how patients use things like TVs, whether rented or not, does need picking up with ward teams - which will happen.
