My husband Michael 20.4.1944 was admitted to Accident and Emergency on the 14th April with low temperature, dehydrated due to extreme dirarrhea, He is a Chemo and Radiotherapy patient, and had finished part of his treatment on the 11th April. The staff that attended to my husband were caring and made him very comfortable, they gave him antibiotics and paracetamol by intravenous, and blood work taken, nothing was too much trouble even the catering staff came around with tea or a sandwich. Thankfully he was discharged that day his dehydration was not as bad as first thought. On the 20th April my husband was again at Accident And Emergency with a high temp of 38.2 severe dirarrhea shaking uncontrollable and breathing problems, again within a few minutes he was seen, hooked up to a BP machine and antibiotics administered straight away, he had a ECG a X-Ray and blood work was taken, was seen by nurses and 3 Doctors one in particular had read my husbands notes from him being diagnosed with lung and kidney cancer at Royal and Broadgreen. After about an hour part of the blood results were back, so it was decided my husband would be staying in, he was admitted to ward 3X. I left my husband at the ward and went home, I was so worried about him. But the next day I phoned up and the staff said he had a good night and had breakfast. When I visited he was a different man, he had colour and was picking up, I cannot thank your staff enough for all there help in treating my husband. It is frightening when a loved one is going through Cancer and how the chemo and radiotherapy affects them. Without your Triage, in an emergency I do not know what I would have done. also I was impressed in the cleanliness of all Departments. And the food has greatly improved. I hope you will pass on my comments to all your staff within the Accident and Emergency and ward 3X ,
