Overall, I had a very distressing time staying at the ward. It was supposed to be recovery treatment in a safe environment, yet it was anything but. I felt like I was stripped of all my rights and freedoms and privacy, and was treated with great disrespect and rudeness by the staff. A particular male nurse there however was very nice and professional and friendly, so was a male manager there, whose name I cannot remember. The Home Treatment Care Team was also extremely polite, friendly, genuine, professional and nice. They really listened to me, and tried to help the best that they could. Two members of staff from the South Kensington Home Treatment Team were so helpful and nice- I could see they genuinely cared and wanted to provide me with the best care as possible. Other than that, I was left very very disappointed at the NHS system, and at the quality of its nurses and medical personnel. My experience with the Danube Ward at the St. Charles Hospital has made me really question the professionalism and the efficacy of the UK's NHS system.
