"Impossible Communications"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

This review is prurely based on pre visit information. My mother in law was referred by the opticians for a cataract removal but as she had not heard anything we found the website and contact telephone number but this turned out to an utter waste of time as no one actually answered the phone at all, despite constantly phoning on the redial system for over half an hour. All we want to know is whether the paperwork has been received and when an appointment is likely to appear before she has no vision what so ever.

Dear Joanne, Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We are really sorry to hear that you have struggled to contact our department. This is unacceptable. Please could you send me your mother-in-law’s details (name, date of birth and full address) and I will find out if an appointment has been made? My email address is Martin.Watts@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. Your feedback is appreciated as it will help us to improve our service for future patients. Kind regards, Martin Watts Ophthalmology Service Manager Leicester’s Hospitals
