After attending the North Hampshire Hospital on Thursday 17th April for a biopsy on my prostate, I would just like to congratulate everyone concerned on the excellent treatment that I received. At all stages of the pre-operation appointment and the operation itself, I was kept informed, treat with an amazing amount of consideration and respect, and the experience was one in which I encountered excellence at every stage. Especially I would like to commend one staff member in C Floor Information, and another who efficiently carried out my pre-op interview. On the day of the treatment the Surgeon & the Anaesthetist, were excellent. The recovery nurse and DTC nurse were exemplary, in fact I have nothing but praise for all of the staff who attended to me. I must say the food could have been better, but I know from a dietitian friend what a meagre budget hospital kitchens have. Perhaps the NHS should charge patients (who can afford it) a nominal amount for their food – after all we have to feed ourselves at home. My only significant criticisms are the red tape processes, the duplication of handwritten reporting, and the pathetic “green screen” IT Systems, that are stopping the medical staff from doing their jobs efficiently. I realise that these problems cannot be resolved locally, the answer must lie with NHS Management, however I am sure that with efficient processes & IT – the staff could cope easily with their increasing workload and achieve an even better service. Thank you all very much,
"Excellent Treatment - Great Team"
