"Hyposmia"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

I was referred by my GP and the treatment provided was poor. Simply given some Betnesol and told that if it did not work in 6 weeks there was nothing else that could be done to improve my sense of smell. The doctor clearly lacked knowledge on recent developments in hyposmia treatment as there are other treatment possibilities which I will explore further afield as the local hospital is lacking.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I am sorry that you feel that the consultant you saw was lacking in the knowledge of your condition and symptoms, or that they did not possess knowledge which you yourself had researched about alternative methods of treatment. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your treatment and would like to discuss the details of your visit to our clinic further, please contact myself by email at kate.mayer@nuh.nhs.uk.
