"Elderly father admitted to A/E"

About: Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath)

In march of this year my elderly father was admitted to A /E from his nursing home . It was obvious to us that he was in the final stages of his life and the staff were very kind and empathetic . We were spoken to by the doctors who explained how poorly he was and asked how we felt he should be treated .It was agreed by us all that he should be kept comfortable and no aggressive treatment would be given . We were all so grateful for the kindness shown to us all by every member of staff and the respect they showed our father . My father was moved to Balcombe ward and he passed away peacefully with his daughters at his side , the nurse on night duty was so kind and went to great lengths to make sure we were supported at all times . It was a difficult time for us all but we were comforted to know that our father was treated with dignity and respect and allowed to have a peaceful and dignified death . Thank you to all at Princess Royal x
