"What a difference 12 months make"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services

Congratulations to all involved at GEH in the improvements which have been implemented in the outpatient departments. Having had nightmare experiences over the past 5 years, the changes which have been made in the last 12 months are amazing. Having had 3 outpatient appointments in this period with different specialities, I have witnessed the improvements taking place with staff moral much improved, clinics running on time, only paying for the parking time used and most importantly patients being kept informed. Moving smokers away from the entrance and having a fresh fruit and veg. stall located there is a simple but fantastic idea. Keep up the good work but please extend it to all operations under the GEH banner, e.g. The Camphill Walk-in Centre which certainly needs the same or a greater degree of management intervention.

Thank you for your comments. The fruit and veg stall has been well received by patients and staff alike. Staff in the outpatients' departments have worked hard to to improve their service for their patients and taken note of patient feedback. I am sorry that you are not as satisfied with the Camp Hill Walk In Centre. There is a new manager in place who, I am sure , will bring change for the better and you could, perhaps, contact the centre to talk about your concerns. Christine Longstaff George Eliot Hospital
