"What is the point of triage in a walk in centre?"

Visited the walk in centre at 12.55 on Sunday 13th. Struggled with bad cough. Visited GP 4 days ago. Reception staff polite and friendly. 20 minutes plus seen by very efficient Nurse Practitioner. Thorough examination of throat, chest, flow meter, pulse, BP etc. Said I would need antibiotics . Nearly 2 hours later seen by doctor who asked if she could ask me questions and listen to my chest. Appeared to have no idea that all this had already been done. Told her that Nurse Practitioner had suggested I get some antibiotics. Doctor said she could not prescribe unless she asked questions and examined me and suggested I could' be seen again by Nurse Practitioner. Doctor efficient but nearly thee hours gone: What was the point of all this: two highly skilled people duplicating essential tasks and asking same questions. I am happy that at the end I did get the antibiotics but it seemed a very hit and miss affair. The following questionnaire asks which department I visited but it does not give an option of Walk in Clinic so I had to say Don't Know!
