"Excellent diagnosis by nurse practitioner"

About: Altrincham General Hospital

I attended the walk in clinic thinking I had pulled a calf muscle. The nurse practitioner diagnosed a deep vein thrombosis. I had flown back from Egypt the day before, the nurse was excellent. Two weeks later my father was diagnosed with a dvt at Manchester royal. Despite visiting his GP regularly for the last 9 months complaining of swelling in his calf. The difference in treatment by gps and the brilliant service by the staff at hospitals is really evident. The doctors and nurses at trafford general who are now treating my dvt are also excellent.

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website regarding your care on April 14th 2014. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects their hard work and dedication. It was reassuring to hear that you thought that the Altrincham Minor Injuries Unit and in particular the nurse practitioner provided a professional and efficient service. I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to the staff at Altrincham Minor Injuries Unit. Once again thank you for your comments and we wish you and your Dad well with your ongoing treatments.
