"A & E visit chest pains"

About: Lister Hospital

I had really bad chest and back pain, I phoned 111 at 7am spoke to someone then they passed me on to a paramedic whilst she was chatting to me an ambulance was on the way in no time at all the ambulance was here they were both fantastic with a very nervous patient, got to A&E and was straight in (well I was the first patient in the new A&E department ) the staff were so friendly and attentive and telling me all the way through what they were doing and why, they were very thorough and professional. Fortunately for me it was not serious and I came home later that day. it is very comforting to know that if someone phones with chest pains they will be get a quick response and be in great hands. A very very big thank you

Thank you so much for letting us know about your experience, which we will make sure gets fed back to our emergency department team at the Lister - as well as our colleagues at NHS111 and the ambulance service. This was a really good example of how these three separately managed services can work together for the benefit of patients - and that ringing NHS111 means you get access to the right service quickly. Our emergency department team will, of course, be delighted to read your feedback and we hope that for all the right reasons, you don't have need of their services again for a very long time!
