"Ward 40"

Had a surgical management of a miscarriage and was on ward 40, was initially alarmed to hear other patients confidential medical information being discussed within the 6 bed ward I was on, including one woman being asked did she intend to have children and that she needed to decide in the preceding moments to her operation. I was shocked and this Made me want to leave... I was not given the medication required before my operation until they had my bed ready to wheel me to theatre which was concerning, and I had to ask for them or would never have been given them. I had to ask would I be given antibiotics as I was not informed they were administered during the operation as I never spoke to the surgeon. However I was assigned a lovely nurse and people were helpful and friendly during my brief stay. However I was not seen by any one prior to discharge and as a result I was not given my anti d injection and had to return on Saturday to get this to prevent issues with future pregnancies. I also begun having terrible stomach cramps on the Saturday evening, followed by diarrhoea and projectile vomiting after leaving the hospital. I had not been any where at all other than the hospital for the 3 days prior to my operation and until the illness started and so I believe I acquired this infection in the hospital. I called ward 40 as was initially concerned that it was an operation related infection and was in a lot of pain but the nurse I spoke to was not very helpful and told me to call my gp. She also did not seem interested in the fact I was vomiting and suffering diarrhoea after visiting he hospital which I think is of concern if there maybe an infection like that present on the ward or within the hospital. While on the ward I had to ask a nurse to remove bloody items / towels from the shared bathroom which also is of concern from an infection control perspective.
