"Excellent, compassionate and caring service from..."

I have recently had a short stay following an emergency admission to A&E. The standard of care in the A&E department, the Clinical Decision Unit and Romanby Ward far exceeded my expectations in every respect. All staff were well-informed, clinically competent and communicated what was happening throughout my stay. The standards of cleanliness were excellent and the food service was very good - in choice, quality and presentation at ward level by the catering staff. All staff worked very well together as a team and communication was not an issue. The registered nurses and health care assistants were attentive to patients needs, kind, caring and compassionate in all their patient contacts. This is not my local hospital as I was on holiday when I took ill but I would have no hesitation in recommending it as a high performing unit which is a credit to the NHS.
