"Satisfied with treatment at three hospitals"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / General surgery Montagu Hospital Northern General Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

Visited Mexborough Montagu for a consultation and pre-op. care, then visited Northern General, for a Ph test stomach 24 hr. All appointments at both places were prompt and efficient, pleasant and informative.

Then visited the Doncaster R.I. surgery admission unit. This has to be the way for the future!

Post op.-ward light, clean and pleasant.

Nursing staff generally good. Pharmacist too softly spoken to hear, no introduction or objective. Up to this point, I was self medicating; continued to do so, but the regime was never clarified.

Communication between staff seems to still be a problem area-on second day I was asked by a nurse if I wanted to go home, said yes as I was not physically restricted. Later came and said they wanted to keep an eye on me further. Discharged following morning 10AM.

Not upset as I had researched internet, but left wondering where the motivation came from in the first place.

I was very lucky that my surgery (Lap.) went so well that I didn't feel any discomfort and was as well as I am today 2 weeks later.
