"Heart failure nurse is absolutely fabulous"

I go to see the heart failure nurse, Sarah Briggs, at Rotherham walk-in centre. She is absolutely fabulous! I see her about every 6 weeks, as I have heart failure, and there is nothing they can do to fix it (I’m just not strong enough for the surgery! ).

I was visiting my excellent doctor (Dr John Burn) regularly, but I was taking up far too much of his time, and often made his surgery run late. So he referred me to a heart failure specialist, with the time and knowledge to help.

For the past 12 months, I’ve been seeing Sarah. She does tests, talks me through the results and changes my tablets when needed. She talks everything through carefully with me. There’s no rush to get rid of me. I feel every confidence in her, she even gave me a ring before she went on holiday. She’s a credit to the NHS. She is truly excellent.
