"Appaling unjustified charges from the Finance..."

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

I wish to express my displeasure regarding the ridiculous charges imposed on me for my mother's emergency treatment in the hospital on 9 March.Non of the hospital staff discussed any details about the cost for my non-resident mom and sent me a bill of 550quids after a month. upon asking the finance dept couldn't even give me any explanation. I'm very unhappy and ashamed for this kind of attitude and behaviour from West Middlesex Hospital. Joyrup

Dear Joyrup, we apologise if there was a misunderstanding with regards to the cost of your mother’s medical care. Under Department of Health guidelines, people who do not normally live in the United Kingdom are not automatically entitled to use NHS care free of charge. West Middlesex follows the guidelines by ensuring that we provide immediate necessary treatment without delay, while the patient’s chargeability status is determined. If you have any further questions about NHS charges please contact Anita Khorugdharry by email at Anita.Khorugdharry@wmuh.nhs.uk Bimal Patel Deputy Director of Finance
