I cannot praise this hospital highly enough. My brother was referred as an emergency case at 11:30 at night from a Kent based hospital and was operated on at 3:30 in the morning by a team that were kind and compassionate to my family and explained fully the procedure and associated risks. Words fail me in adequately praising the surgeon for the success of his work, so a massive thanks. Also it would be remiss not to mention the nursing staff from all IT units (surgical and medical), High Dependency and the Bernard Sunley ward who to a person are the epitome of what I have always believed nurses were about, caring, knowledgeable and kind. What a stark contrast to the slapdash care that my poor old mother had to endure in Lewisham Hospital just south of the river. A true centre of excellence which makes me feel that more specialist hospitals might make for greater overall satisfaction with the NHS.
"A centre of excellence"
