"emergency c section"

About: Burnley General Hospital

Having read some bad reviews I was a little nervous about giving birth at burnley, but I need not have wasted my time worrying! Arrived at the hospital already fully dilated, but baby wasn't for coMing, really wanted to avoid a cesarean so was allowed to have more time to push. Spent a few hours in the waterpool with 2 very lovely midwives who rarely left my side. Unfortunately the doctor came in and said the time had come to get my baby out as he was getting distressed. I was obviously upset as the section was the last thing I wanted. The midwives were so caring and stayed with me throughout the surgery even though they had actually been due a break hours ago. surgery went well, delivered a healthy 11lb6oz baby. spent a few days on the ward with some amazing nurses looking after me. The night nurse especially was brilliant. She spent so much time with me trying to help me breastfeed. She even took him for an hour and got him to sleep whole I had a rest. I am so shocked anybody can complain about this place. Having had a terrible experience with my first child at Fairfield hospital this was such a relief to have a good experience. Although after the size of my second baby I most definitely won't be going back for a third!
