"Stay on Ward H1 after surgery"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

Last weekend I stayed for 2 days and nights on ward H1 after having my prostate removed in surgery. Everything seemed professionally done, but I was particularly moved by the care and human kindness with which I was looked after. It was quite an eye opener. I was on a busy ward, even over the weekend, yet there always seemed to be time for me when I asked for it. A couple of times I was told that someone would be with me shortly because something more urgent was happening, but just knowing that made it feel like we were all being looked after as well as was humanly possible.

Dear Mr Stewart Thank you for taking the time to give us your kind comments on the care you received on H1 at The Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Staff do always try to provide the best quality care for their patients and it is nice to hear that patients appreciate this, especially at very worrying and stressful for times for them. I will ensure your comments are passed on and hope you continue to make a good recovery.
