"Sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled."

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

I value the care that i have been given at the RVI doctors and nurses since finding out about my condition. The staff have not only been helpful and caring, but very understanding when i have been coming to terms with what i now have. However, the one problem that i have had is with the rashness of the office staff. I make all my appointments, willing to wait and happy to be seen. I have rang up today to reschedule an appointment i am unable to make in 3 months time due to work commitments and i get greeted with confrontation and dictated to that i will then be able to see a doctor in October. This to me is like bullying as when there is a genuine reason why someone can not make their appointment, rings the correct channels that are set in place straight away, then gets told that the treatment that they need will then not be available to them until October? I stay with the NHS because i believe in that cause, not to be made to feel like i am a burden. Feeling like i have to then say sorry and ask the member of staff to look again should not be a situation patients should be forced into for treatment that is required for them. I did not expect the attitude i recieved on my phone call today, and i am highly disappointed.
