"Worst treatment ever"

About: New Cross Hospital

A&E I spent 4hours in a and e watching people who looked as if there was nothing wrong swan in before me and very obviously ill children ,after finally getting through after it was again a very long and painful wait at which point it was very late in the night! After being told by a doctor that I needed to go onto the gynaecology ward it took an hour and a half just to wait for a porter to take me up.By this point I was due for more painkillers but because of the lack of staff (doctors) there was nobody to sign to say I could have any so then I had to wait for a further two hours without pain relief ,which then also meant I couldn't even try to get some rest,I felt like I was put in a room that I perhaps shouldn't have been (emergency triage) and there was dirty tissues on the floor around the bin.when the doctor did come to see me she was professional, and apologetic and decided it would be best if I had a scan before she decided anything further.i was very pleased with her bedside manner and how sensitive she was with my problem.although the scan showed there was no medical issues with how my coil was put in,I myself felt it was best to have it removed.i feel it was my right to decided what I wanted doing,however the registrar said she wouldn't advise it then also said she probably wouldn't be allowed to do the procedure.the thought of keeping the coil in with the extraordinary pain I felt it had put me in,scared me.i rang my mom upset who then rung the gynaecology reception and spoke to a nurse that reassured her that actually I would be able to have the procedure done and that she had spoken to a consultant to check ,and that she would come and reassure me also, which she did , she was lovely and made sure I was feeling better and offered me a drink.Not long after that the registrar came back and said I couldn't have the procedure done for legal reasons and that if I wanted it to be done I would have to go back to where I had it put in,in the first place,I explained that this was highly inconvenient as I'd had it done somewhere not local under emergency circumstances.Her attitude towards me then became very hostile and argumentative asking "why can't you go back there" and saying "I probably won't do it so don't get your hopes up"I then asked why she was saying she couldn't do it when her colleague said that she could her words were "she's just a junior doctor and hasn't spoken to a consultant" I believe this lady was a fully trained nurse not a junior doctor.she continued to ask a consultant wether or not to go through with the procedure, the consultant then came and introduced himself and was very professional and reassured me that I was the patient and although he wouldn't suggest I have the coil out that if that is what I wanted then he would respect that and do it for me.he explained all the risks and I happily wrote and signed a disclaimer.when the registrar came back she very briefly explained the procedure. *to be continued
