"Amazing doctor"

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

Being honest, from past experiences in the royal I didn't have very much to say about the staff, accommodation or cleanliness. I hadn't had a very good experience. But that's not what I want to right my review about. Since i was 14 I've had alot of complex health problems including, gallstones, liver trauma, pancreatitis, stomach ulcers, kidney infections and kidney stones. So when i arrived in the A&E with lower back pain, I was expecting long waiting hours and to come home with minimal answers. However when I arrived i was treated by a lovely doctor. Before entering the cubicle she had read up on my entire history and looked back at previous scans. It felt like she knew me straight away. She was so friendly and when i informed her i had bad veins to take blood, instead of poking around for 5 minutes she listened to me and took an ultra sound of my arm first. minimizing the time i was uncomfortable, it was completely unexpected. She was always smiling. Unlike most doctors, she would say she would go and get something and she would be straight back within minutes. I felt like i was the only patient in the hospital. she followed my time in the A&e from start to finish. and whats more, she actually gave me answers. After hearing it was very likely kidney stones again i was so happy she had found this straight away and i wasn't passed around from doctor to doctor. I cannot sing her praises enough, after spending a quarter of my life in hospitals she has been one of the loveliest doctors I have met, and i really do hope that she gets the recognition she deserves and reads this letter. It would be fantastic if you could email me back letting me know this has been read and the doctor knows. Thanks Katherine Chadwick

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and such lovely comments about a member of our staff. We will pass this on to our team in the emergency department. If you know the name of the doctor, could you email us at communications@rlbuht.nhs.uk and we can then pass on your comments to them directly as well. Thanks again
