I went into Dahlia Ward for this operation on the 6th April 2014 and i was very happy by the way i was treated and how friendly and helpful the nurses and other staff were they could not do enough for you they check every 20 mins sometimes less just to see if everything was ok. The only downful was my that i had to be at the ward by 7.30am operations start between 8am-12pm according to the letter. I saw one of the surgeons that was assisting in the operation and everything was explained to me and the time of my op was 1pm which did not happen i finally went to surgery at 2.30pm and arrived back in the ward at 4.45pm and finally got home at 8pm the same day. It is not the fault of the Ward or the nursing staff it the fault of the ones who send out the letters for Admissions as i think they could word it better or leave the times of the operations off as nothing ever goes the way is should. But apart from that i cannot fault that ward at all and yes i would go back if needed. You can ask as many questions as you like to get a full understanding of what will the after care be and the procedure from start to finish is explained in full detail of what they are going to do and if you don`t fully understand then just before you go into theatre it is explained to you again and the anethiest explains exaclty what they will be doing and they also visit you on the ward before your op and a physiotherapist also visits the ward to show and explain your excerisies to you. I would like to say Thank-you to the Ward,Nurses,Senior Nurses,Surgeons,Trainee Nurses and finally the other staff who kept the ward clean and brought the tea/coffee trollies round. They all worked very well together Thank-you all for taking care of me. Even the lady patient next to my bed who had a hip replacement on the 4th April 2014 could not find fault. Ms. Christine Lester
