Recently I was admitted with fast and irregular AF. I was first seen in A& E, swiftly and efficiently, then moved to Courtlands Ward. Once there I was assessed very quickly by a registrar then seen by the cardiologist, and had various tests culminating in a cardioversion carried out in the CCU itself. At all stages the staff could not have been nicer, more informative, never appearing rushed, and really caring for all of us in the ward. The CCU is obviously very well run: it was most impressive. My wife, a retired nurse, was allowed to be with me all day, and she said afterwards she was really moved by the efficiency and care shown, and particularly by the trouble taken to explain everything so carefully. Thank you everyone.
