What I liked I liked the fact that I only waited for about 30 seconds before the counter staff attended to me. I was treated really quickly and the actual removal of stitches was done properly and hygienically. I arrived at 9 30 this morning, and left the Walk in Centre 15 mins later. What could be improved? The nurse was dismissive and impolite, as she knew that she was able to provide a service to me which I would battle to get elsewhere, as I had a limited time to get the stiches removed and did not want to be late for work. She said that she she didn't have to do it, but that she would anyway. I think that she suggested that she " didn't have to do it" because I didn't know the dosage of my hypertension/cholestrol medication, which I didn't know was applicable to the removal of two stitches, and has not been asked in the past. Throughout I was friendly and polite in order to make sure that I wasn't refused service, which was the impression that I was given by demenour and body language of the nurse, if I didn't comply. The walk in clinic at the RLH was empty and the nurse had no other patients waiting to see her. Anything else? Friendliness and politeness are important aspect sof patient care and hospital staff should retrain regularly in the soft skills assocaited with their jobs.Rudeness and bullying of patients like myself should not be tolerated.
