"Plenty of well trained and attentive ..."

About: Royal Hospital Haslar

(as the patient),

What I liked Plenty of well trained and attentive staff. Clean ward, very reasonable food. Access to consultant and anaesthetist before and after surgery. Very effective pain relief. Physiotherapist and occupational therapist (OT) on the ward, good rehabilitation equipment either in hospital and delivered to my house, and house visits by the OT. Short waiting time between visiting my GP and surgery (six months, could have been 4). Good outpatient care during assessment. Home three days after surgery. Good literature before, during and on discharge. Anything else? I am very pleased with the treatment I received all the way from visiting my GP initially, through tests and consultations and during my stay in hospital. The staff were very busy at all times, but had time to treat patients individually. The presence of non clinical staff (who helped with food and cleaning), meant that the nursing staff could could devote themselves to the patients.
