"Unreasonable waiting time for urodynamics test"

About: Hillingdon Hospital

I have bad and painful urinary retention and the Dr has said I will have to wait for at least 9 months for the test I require. I wasn't even given a date when my test might be and have just been left to wait an indefinite period. This totally outrageous

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Urology service, we always welcome patients views and share with our staff for learning and improving. I am sorry that you were not given an explanation by staff as to what happens next for you in regards to the appointment date for your urology test, I would like to take this opportunity to explain the process. The required test is only carried out by the Consultant, on his instructions; he feels that once he has completed the test he can then proceed with the right treatment plan for you. The reason that staff did not give you a date is because you will be contacted by the Outpatient Booking Centre at a time nearer to the pending appointment. This is to enable us to offer you an appointment date and time that is convenient for you to attend for the test. I know that this does not make the wait any shorter but I hope it gives you a better understanding of what happens next. Christine Lowe-Faria Matron Outpatients Department.
