My baby was born at a different hospital, but I had minor complications afterwards. After being transferred to Bath RUH for removal of placenta, I was in a room waiting to be seen. I had my newborn in my arms on the bed when the surgeon came in to see what she needed doing, I finally understood her after much explanation (not very good English speaking!!) she told me she just needed to have a look, then the next thing I knew she had rammed her hand up me so undignified, I jumped up the bed and nearly dropped my baby as they hadn't even put the side up on the bed! I had arrived to Bath RUH with 2 grazes through natural birth and I left with a second degree tear. More care should have been taken and the stitches made recovery longer for me (my aftercare midwife had to remove some of the dissolving stitching because of the position of the knot, 10 days later. I'm upset about the tearing though more than the staff. Even the surgeon who I couldn't understand very well!
