"Choosing a hospital for a patient with Alzheimer's..."

About: Springfield Hospital

My husband has Alzheimer's disease and applied to Springfield for knee replacement under the NHS chose and book scheme. He was assessed by a senior nurse with experience of the condition as being suitable as an inpatient at Springfield and received wonderful one to one care 24/7. He was treated with skill and kindness by the knowledgeable staff who understood his problems and was never left on his own day or night during the hours when I could not be there. I knew that his safety was paramount to the staff and that at no time was he at risk. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay and is making a very good recovery. I too was met with thoughtfulness and good humour and nothing was ever too much trouble and I would not hesitate to recommend Springfield as a very safe and pleasant option for a patient in a similar situation.
