My 2 and a half year old got 'pulled elbow' and we received excellent care and treatment in the minor injury, a&e and xray department. We first visited on Wednesday night where a very nice doctor and nurse tried to manipulate the injury back into place. My daughter was very tired, upset and in pain, not the easiest patient, but the staff were wonderful. They spoke to her on her level and gave helpful treats like a sticker and teddy bear (which she is now devoted to). As it was late and my daughter was so exhausted we decided to see how she was in the morning rather than try an xray at this stage. The next morning it was clear her arm still wasn't right as she wasn't moving it. We visited a&e again where we were seen very promptly. The lovely nurse tried to give her some pain relief (not an easy task) and another doctor tried manipulating the arm again. As no 'click' was heard and the arm was still immobile we were sent for an xray. My daughter kicked up a right stink but the nurse in xray was brilliant and patient. Happily my daughter starting using her arm and we were discharged. Really wonderful care received, brilliant with our daughter. Thank you to the lovely staff who saw us, please know your hard work is really appreciated.
