"Disgusting"

In December 2013, my grandmother who suffers from dementia was admitted onto short stay with a severe urine infection and stroke like symptoms. Because of her confusement and bewilderment, she was speaking and often mumbling in her sleep. My mother and I visited the garage down the road, and when we returned we found that a curtain had been pulled around her bed. A few hours before hand, several nursing staff on the ward had witnessed her, in a sleeplike state, trying to get out of bed, yet her legs kept falling into the holes in the side of the red rails. Therefore we asked that the curtain was not drawn around her so that she could be watched over. When we asked why the curtrain was drawn over, they said it was because she was making too much noise- how does a curtain restrict noise? Because of this, she had suffered a small laceration. On returning to her residential home, the small laceration was infact a 10 by 10cm gash, and her bone was visible, it was covered with cotton wall and that was it. The gash was severely infected, and because of this, she then suffered a severe blood infection, and was admitted back into hospital in late december, and did not leave until the very end of Febuary. In november, my grandmother was very healthy- it was hardly noticeable that she had dementia. Only three days before being admitted, she was walking around Bluewater. Yes, she did become poorly with the urine infection, yet once all signs of infection of the urine had dissappeared, she was back to her normal talkative self. However, she still was losing weight, and still could not walk due to her leg. Because of this, she has now lost the use of her core muscles, and has now had to be admitted to a Nursing home. Further more, whenever a doctor came to see her, they wrote that the injury was done at her 'residential home' even though it was done at your 'hospital'. Thanks to this establishment, my grandmother has been diagnosed with depression, as she has the lucidity and awareness, yet is not able to walk. You have caused her quality of life to diminish, and a more formal investigation will take place.
