My daughter who is a student in a different city to her home town and who therefore registered with a GP there, has come home and needed to see a GP. She did not want to register at home again as she is registered at her university town, so she attended a drop in centre (Shakespeare drop in centre Leeds), waited two hours to be seen and then only to be told by the doctor that they couldn't do anything and she had to register with a GP? ! The doctor did not even examine her. What is the point of drop in centres if this is the case? She will either have to attend A&E or register with a GP and hope they will see her. What is the correct procedure for students and what do drop in centres do?
