"delay in biopsy report"

I had a suspect mole removed from my back. The procedure was quick and painless and left only a small scar. I heard nothing from the hospital for 4 months when I was informed that the mole was a malignant melanoma. Two weeks later a wider, deeper area of skin was removed. I could feel the knife cutting into my skin in one area and the needle penetrating during sewing up of the oval shaped wound. Fortunately, it was more alarming than painful. Another problem was the noise of waiting patients outside the surgical room - it does not deserve the title operating theatre. I am convinced the noise must have been as off putting to the surgeon as it was to me. I now have a large ugly scar which has left a bump of flesh at one end and a ripple at the other. The good news is no cancer cells were found in the second biopsy. My main concern is that it took so long to get the result of the first biopsy and I have received no satisfactory explanation for this. The Dermatology department is housed in a very old building which I am told is about to be replaced. This may have something to do with the defects I experienced.
