My father who suffered with Alzheimer's disease was recently admitted to ward 4. What a breath of fresh air, caring staff who treated him with respect and maintained his dignity at all times. There was always a nurse stationed in his bay at all times and nothing was too much trouble. I was encouraged to bring in photos, and low level age appropriate music was played in the afternoon. I was given a pt passport to fill in so that staff were aware of his likes and dislikes and had accurate info about him. Unfortunately my dad passed away at the weekend but I could not have wished for him to be in a better place , his death was handled sensitively and we were looked after so well by the staff on duty. Ward 4 is a beacon of nursing excellence with all staff appearing committed and dedicated to what they do - others could learn a lot from this team. Thank you for everything you did for my dad (Peter)
