(as the patient),

Attended day surgery and had knee arthroscopy and medial menisectomy on recently. Excellent, compassionate and professional care from beginning to end. Was treated with kindness and respect throughout and had everything fully explained. No member of staff passed me by without saying hello, asking if I was comfortable or if I needed anything.

Would like to pass on my thanks and gratitude to mr. Syme, my surgeon, Dr. Mickie, my anaesthetist, and to all the nursing staff in main recovery and day surgery. Great teams, and excellent example of person centred care. I felt in safe hands throughout and cannot thank everyone enough.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Minniemum,

I have just taken over this role today. Can I say what a pleasure it has been to hear so many great patient stories and experiences. I have worked in the NHS for more years than I would like to admit and it is truely comforting to know that people are experiencing excellent, safe and person centred care, and these are your own words.

Not least, I am delighted that this was your experience during your recent visit. I will make sure that all the staff are made aware of your feeelings about your care as I know it makes a huge difference to staff getting such positive feedback.
