"2 Visits, Fobbed off.... not treated seriously."

About: University Hospital Aintree

I am disgusted at how I was treated in Aintree hospital! I visited on Tuesday 18th March complaining of blurred vision, after waiting over 4 hours I finally saw a doctor who said that he couldn't see anything in my eyes after extensive checks and lights shone in my eyes., I was told that there was a slight infection in my blood, but nothing to worry about. He advised me to come back if it got worse or painful. On Wednesday 19ty I visited again, complaining of the same thing. Again I waited 4 hours to see a Doctor who did the same tests, lights in my eyes etc. and again he said that there was nothing wrong and to see my GP, I explained that I was visitng Liverpool and unable to dive back to Cumbria as I couldn't see properly. He seemed disinterested and said there was nothing he could fo. I asked if there was a special department that I could be referred to for further testing but he said no, there was no one then at that time, and didn't offer me an appt for the following day On leaving the hospital I I phoned NHS Direct and they advised me to go to The Royal Hospital instead,. I went to the Royal and they did the same tests as Aintree and told me they had found something in the back of my eye and to wait for further tests. After more tests, they discovered that I have Retinal Haemorrhaging in the back of both eyes and would need further treatment. I am currently waiting to find out what further treatment i will need whether it be laser surgery or something else. I am disgusted that Aintree kept me waiting 8 hours, sent me home twice and treated me as if I was making up my symptoms. I am terrified that the lack of treatment I have had will have had further damage to my eyes, and the doctors at the Royal are shocked and astounded that the doctors at Aintree didn't see anything in the back of my eye because they saw the Haemorrhaging with the naked eye. I have given feedback to Aintree by text and requested that someone get in touch and I have heard nothing. I am now scared for my eyesight, I am distraught, and in shock that I was sent away twice in a strange place, with no where else to turn. I would not recommend Aintree Hospital to anyone, incompetency and lack of respect is abundantly clear and I am contemplating a formal compalnt
