"I liked the staff on the Labour ..."

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

What I liked

I liked the staff on the Labour ward, my midwife was lovely. The Labour ward was very clean. Looked nice too.

What could be improved

I had a terrible time after, I was discharged even when I could not breathe - I was re-admitted 3 days later with a suspected Pulminary Embolism. Can't understand WHY they let me home from the Postnatal ward. The midwife did not show me how to bathe my son, after 3 times of asking. The ward was very shabby and needs updating.

Alot of the hospital looks very old and dingy, needs updating.

Anything else?

I now work for NUH, and I am pleased to say, the wards are kept very clean with 24.7 cover domestics.

I am having my second baby here now, as I do realise they are great people, just understaffed and underpaid. We need to stop putting so much money into 'Smoking wardens etc' and into more midwives and nurses!

Dear Keeley,

Thank you for your feedback. Feedback is always very helpful and helps us to make improvements to the services we provide.

Your comments and concerns have been passed to the on to the Labour ward and will be taken into consideration on service delivery.

With regards to your comments on the smoking wardens - we currently employ four wardens, which operate across both campuses (QMC and City hospitals) and we have had large number of positive comments about their work and the effect they have on the number of smokers within hospital grounds.

Your comments are important to us as we need to take all our customers needs into consideration and this is a trial initiative.

Kind regards
