"D27, also Gynae and Plastics teams"

I had my hysterectomy in Jan 2014, the staff on D27 were terrific, although this an extremely busy ward staff always found time for a quick word or to offer help and assistance. Unfortunately I found myself back on the ward 6 weeks later with post op complications, on reflection I should have gone straight back to hospital instead of seeking treatment from my GP and Practice Nurse and no doubt it would not have resulted in a 10 day stay. This time it was all quite overwhelming, I have to say the nursing quickly picked up on this and offered me reassurance and an ear! Although I was no longer her patient she took an active role in my care. In fact her registrar, often took time to visit me on the ward and keep me updated after liaising with the plastics consultant. The registrar also attended the operation although she had finished for the day, no one could ask for better care then that. I would also like to thank the Plastics Consultant, I have a very neat scar! Again my thanks to all the lovely staff of Ward 27.
