About: The James Cook University Hospital University Hospital Of North Tees / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

After 16 years of back pain I was seen by a lady from the back clinic at James Cook Hospital. She told my doctor not to give anymore painkillers, and she said that I should help my self by mowing the lawn and hoovering.

1 year latter I moved area and got a new doctor who sent me to North Tees Hospital. The care I have received has been excellent. They sent me for a MRI Scan which showed 3 very badly damaged discs at the base of my spine. I'm now waiting for an operation to have these discs fused.

I'm just worried other people with serious back problems are been given the same advice as myself from the back clinic at James Cook.
