"hawthorn house: I want to go back on the ward"

About: Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Liaison psychiatry

(as the patient),

I was on a ward last year at LGI Brotherton wing.

I had to leave after 4 weeks because of the benefit rules, I told a lie on the ward so they wouldn't make me stay and made it look like I was ok, the 1 thing that should be available is help with your finances to take the stress of sorting things out for you, I am now trying to get back on the ward for them to finish what they started for me.

Don't get me wrong the ward staff were brilliant. I have been close to suicide twice since leaving the ward. I have begged the nhs to get me back on the ward but it is easier to get in prison than get in hospital.

All I want is to get myself sorted by going back on the ward but the nhs is not listening.

Dear paulg17,

As the Manager for the Liaison Psychiatry inpatient service I am very sorry to hear that you felt unable to continue with your inpatient care last year due to financial difficulties. I fully appreciate what an impact financial worries can have and although I’m pleased you found the ward staff supportive, obviously I'm very concerned to hear that you have contemplated suicide since discharge.

Without knowing more details about your specific case I am not able to advocate what sort of help would be suitable for you and you do not say in your post what, if any, services you are currently involved with.

If you are not involved with LYPFT services I would encourage you to contact your GP, as they should know how to access the most appropriate service to meet your needs.

If you have already tried this route, I would recommend contacting our Patient Advice & Liaison Service on 0800 0525790 or pals.lypft@nhs.net, as they will be able to investigate any obstacles to services which you may be encountering, including speaking to me if necessary. PALS will also be able to put you in touch with organisations who offer specialist advice on finances and benefits.

I do hope you are soon able to continue the progress started on the ward last year.

Kim Bunton

Clinical Services Manager

Leeds Liaison Psychiatry and Perinatal Services

Thank you Kim for your response.

After contacting the crisis team at the Becklin Centre they sent me to Hawthorn House, St Marys Hospital and tried to get me involved with other humans at the centre.

I just walked out as I was in so much pain from nerve pain in my back and chest as my muscles in my torso don't seem to be working right for some reason and its got worse over time. I was taught by Dr Yellowmanchilli how to do relaxing tech but its not working. My old gp kept changing my meds as doctor chilli knows all about after only being on them for 4 wks 7 different antidepressants,my old gp said he likes diazepam and took me of what ward and dr chilli put me on been on them 8mths now not working.

I've asked my new gp to put me back on the ward with no joy. I now have outworker mental health worker asked them to put me back on ward no joy. They are trying to teach me how to relax been there done that it doesn't work.

When I go out I get a lump in the back and nerve pain in my back and chest and my legs wont work right so I end up having to ring an ambulance on many occasions, ive asked the crisis team to put me back on the ward as I am in regular contact in crisis,a and e lgi wanted to do a blood test called enzyme blood test on my heart muscle but put me on a side ward full of humans.

I had to sign myself out as they wanted me to stay in,I didn't feel safe to many humans, talking no longer works for me actions is what I need and that is put me back on the ward so we can get it all sorted in 1 go what ever amount of time it takes now,on the last day on the ward 1 of the nurses I was taking to stopped me and said my chest wasn't moving. Why?
